Professor Jia Ming’s Online Report
Professor Chen Xi Addresses Teachers and Students
Jia Ming first systematically introduced the thinking mode of management research from three aspects: the multi-party definition of management research, the internal driving force of management research and the methods of management research. Then, he logically combs the management research methods from the eight steps of hypothetical inference research (determination of interesting research fields, literature reading and refining of research questions, proposal of hypotheses, research design, data collection, data analysis, result interpretation and writing of papers). In addition, he also guided postgraduates to carry out scientific research work in problem-oriented and literature-oriented methods, and introduced the practical application of relevant theories in combination with typical cases in management research.
The wonderful report triggered a heated discussion on the management research among the participating teachers and students. Jia Ming exchanged views with the on-site teachers and students on such issues as “how to determine research problems”, “coordinating the relationship between work and scientific research”, “the relationship between imitation and innovation in the beginning stage of academic paper writing and publishing” and “approaches to find insufficient existing research”. What he shared in the special report meeting received good response.
