(Correspondents: Wang Jie and Liang Yu) On December 31, 2021, all the teachers and students of the "Building a Dream for the Future" Teaching Guidance Team in the SEM participated in the “2022 New Year Salon for Young Scholars of Library, Information and Archives 39 and 2021 Conference of Top Ten Academic Hotspots in Chinese Library, Information and Archives Circles” online, and gathered with many experts and scholars in the cloud to welcome the arrival of 2022.
This conference was jointly sponsored by Xidian University, the Salon for Young Scholars of Library, Information and Archives 39, and the Library, Information and Archives Serial Periodicals of Books and Newspapers Data Center of Renmin University of China, and undertaken by the School of Economics and Management, Xidian University. The Associate Professor Ma Xubu presided over the opening ceremony of the conference, and Professor Qin Chunxiu presided over the Ingenuity 2021. Professor Zhao Pengwei, the head of the Learning Guidance Team, and Professor Chai Jian, the Executive Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Xidian University, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference and the academic hot spot conference respectively.
This conference is divided into two parts: the New Year Salon for Young Scholars of Library, Information and Archives 39 themed on “2021 Academic Behind the Scenes · Revealing the Unknown Stories Behind the Latest Academic Achievements”, and the 2021 Conference on Top Ten Academic Hot Spots in Chinese Library, Information and Archives themed on “Paying Attention to Discipline Hotspots and Perspective on Discipline Progress”.
The New Year Salon for Young Scholars consists of five topics, namely, “Ingenuity”, “Practice”, “Subtle Influence”, “Expansion” and “Dominance”. Relevant young scholars in the field of graphic archives were invited to give thematic reports. At the hot spot conference, ten academic hot spots in the field of library, information and archives in China were released, and five well-known experts were invited to report and interpret the hot spots. The teachers and students of the Team actively participated in and studied the research trends, cutting-edge achievements and related research reports of experts in the field of library, information and archives, and listened to the stories behind the latest academic achievements.
After the end of this conference, Wang Yulong, a doctoral student in the Team, shared his feelings: First of all, he’s very honored to participate in the New Year Salon for Young Scholars in 2022. Secondly, by listening to the reports of experts and scholars, students have benefited a lot. They feel fortunate to listen to the unknown stories behind the fruitful achievements of scholars, and have a more systematic and clear understanding of the research hotspots in the field of library, information and archives. Based on their own research content, research practice and the needs of the times, they tell us a picture of scientific research. Their stories include helplessness and persistence in scientific research activities, and warmth and emotion in research interviews. Thanks to their sharing, people can further feel the value, direction and fun of the research in the field of library, information and archives.
Liang Yu, a second-year postgraduate of the Team, shared his gains: This salon activity made us all gain a lot and benefit a lot, and every report is the crystallization of wisdom of experts and scholars. For us, a comprehensive understanding of the relevant research results and trends in this discipline will play a guiding role in our academic research, and we feel that we have spent a very meaningful cross-year academic conference together!
Wang Jie, a second-year postgraduate of the Team, shared his feelings: In this New Year Salon, the experts, scholars and predecessors in the field of library, information and archives shared the cutting-edge research results of the field, which guided the way forward for our study and research, and also provided valuable experience, and inspired our younger generations to persevere and forge ahead in their respective research fields. In the future, we will inherit the fine quality and rigorous style of experts in the field, realize our life value under the leadership of the instructors of the “Building a Dream for the Future” Team, and shine brilliantly on the road of scientific research in the future.
The 2022 New Year Salon of Young Scholars 39 and Conference of Top Ten Academic Hotspots were successfully concluded. Through the wonderful reports of many experts, comments and thoughts of lecturers, this activity flashed academic charm, stirred up the spark of innovation, promoted students to pay more attention to hot spots in the field, and enhanced the communication among students and teachers. Everyone had a deeper understanding of the related issues in the academic circles and industries of library, information and archives, and had expressed that they had benefited a lot from attending this conference, which would greatly enhance their awareness of future scientific research. It is the infinite charm of academic research that encourages students to make persistent efforts and make new gains on the road of scientific research!
