——BIFE2019 and the 10th Youth Forum of China Optimization Method Coordination Method and Economic Mathematics Research Society was successfully held in Xidian University
From August 15 to 17, 2019, the BIFE2019 and the 10th Youth Forum of China Optimization Method Coordination Method and Economic Mathematics Research Society was grandly held in Xi’an. More than 20 national outstanding youths and Changjiang scholars from famous and well-known universities across the country, more than 10 deans of related colleges and universities across the country, more than 10 heads of top domestic and foreign journals, many well-known foreign experts, and more than 300 teachers and students from universities across the country participated in the event, discussed hot research topics, and jointly offered an academic feast.
The event was co-sponsored by the Xidian University, the BIFE Organizing Committee, the Youth Working Committee of the China Optimization Method Coordination Method and Economic Mathematics Research Society, the Institutes of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Management Science.

On the morning of August 16, the opening ceremony was held. Professor Wang Shouyang, Honorary Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Xidian University and Academician of The World Academy of Sciences, Professor Yang Xiaoguang, Chairman of the Systems Engineering Society of China, Professor Li Zhongmin, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Shaanxi Financial Assets Management Co., Ltd., Professor Li Jianping, Chairman of the Conference and Secretary General of the China Optimization Method Coordination Method and Economic Mathematics Research Society and Professor Yu Le’an, Chairman of the Conference and the initiator of the BIFE, attended the opening ceremony. Professor Shi Guangming, Vice President of Xidian University, was invited to attend the event and deliver a speech. The ceremony was presided over by Li Yaoping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management.

On behalf of the XDU, Shi Guangming welcomed the guests, teachers and students participating in the conference, and expressed gratitude to everyone supporting the construction and development of the XDU for a long time. He briefly introduced the XDU’s outstanding achievements in scientific research and discipline areas, especially in artificial intelligence. He said that the XDU was currently in a critical period of exploring the construction of “Double First Class”. He hoped that experts and scholars would provide more suggestions and opinions for the development of the XDU. At the same time, he hoped that the School of Economics and Management would closely follow the trend of the information technology age, rely on the XDU’s unique platform advantages in the field of electronic information disciplines, explore the integration of information technology and disciplines, and strengthen its connotation construction. He wished this event a complete success and looked forward to breakthroughs in the research on intelligence theory in the fields of economics and management.
Academician Wang Shouyang delivered a speech. He stated that under the leadership and support of the XDU’s Party Committee, the School has enjoyed a good momentum of discipline development in recent years with great potential. He revealed the School’s results of discipline evaluation in recent years. The MPA (Master of Public Administration) evaluation results are among the top universities in the country. He called on all teachers and students of the School to embrace the fifth round of first-class discipline evaluation with confidence and a positive mental attitude, fully summarize the advantages and strive for good results. He hoped that this event could motivate and produce a batch of outstanding academic achievements, and provide more innovative thinking and practical methods applicable to national economic construction and social development.
Li Yaoping introduced the basic profile of the School. The School of Economics and Management, Xidian University, initiates information science, rely on ICT, conduct strict management of characteristics, humbly seek economic development, and make certain achievements in the historical development of discipline construction, talent training, teaching and scientific research, and consulting services. He said that under the guidance of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the teachers and students of the School were united as one, working hard, and guided by the “four matters of confidence” in the new era, striving to build a high-level school of economics and management with the characteristics of ICT in the XDU.
Yu Le’an introduced the development history of BIFE and pointed out that BIFE mainly studies the application and integration of artificial intelligence in the field of economics and management to serve the financial, business and other industries. Li Jianping introduced the participation in this event, which achieved a scale breakthrough in terms of the number of participants and the number of contributions.

The one-and-a-half-day event consisted of conference theme reports (9 sessions), theme seminars at branch venue (4 groups), journal editor exchange forum, excellent conference paper recommendation, award ceremony and other activities, on which participants provided profound and cutting-edge academic insights on economics and management. It is understood that there were more than 300 participants in this event, more than 180 contributions, 112 conference reports, and 31 excellent papers (including 9 English papers) selected. The School of Economics and Management, Xidian University, won the Excellent Organization Award. Participants said that this event benefited greatly from academic exchanges in the field of economics and management, basic theoretical research, and discussion of practical methods, opened up an international perspective, promoted academic exchanges in the field of international economics and management, and played a positive role in the development of the economics and management discipline of the XDU.
