1) Aged 18 or older, high school graduates or those with certificate of equivalent education.

2) Candidates who apply to be taught in English shall have attained generally-accepted international English proficiency level of IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 75 or the equivalent level of English required by his/her own country(must be approved by Xidian University); and students who apply to be taught in Chinese shall have attained HSK level 4 at least. Those who are not able to meet the requirements can apply for Chinese language training at Xidian Universityand pass HSK test.

I. Brief Introduction of theProgram

As a cross-disciplinary program that spans multidisciplinary disciplines such as management, economics, and information technology, the major ofBusiness Administrationadheres to cultivate talents with both ability and integrity,insists on the concept of T-type Talent cultivation. The students in this program will experience asystematictraining from all round, learning the basic theories, skills and methods required by various types of organizations such as enterprises, government departments, financial institutions and scientific research units, for-profit or not-for-profit, in their effort striving for better management in the information era.The program graduates will help their employers to adapt and develop in this ever-changing world.

II.Training Objectives

This specialty aims at fosteringinternationalstudents with both integrity and academic excellence, developing their basic Chinese language skills and understanding of Chinese culture, ensuring their grasp of basic theories, knowledge and skills of the specialty, so that as economic and management talents, they will play a role in promoting friendly partnership as well as cultural communication between China and their native countries.

The trainingobjectivesof this specialtyinclude: the graduates should have the ability of Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing; master the basic knowledge about management, information and economics; be highly adaptive to the socioeconomic development. Based on the theories learned and skills developed in a systematic way, the graduates are innovative and have practical abilities, and could successfully undertake the management work assignment in various organizations such as businesses, financial institutes, research institutes and government.

III.Fundamental Requirements

-General Description:

Graduates of this program should meet the following requirements:

1. Have a solid foundation in mathematics and basic knowledge of business administration, master critical and innovative thinking methods and research methods, and have good scientific literacy and research capabilities.

2. Strong practical ability, innovation awareness and leadership, with the ability to propose, analyze and solve problems;

3. Have good professional ethics and literacy, as well as teamwork spirit.

- Knowledge Structure and Capacity Structure Requirements:

1. Economics and management knowledge:Master the basic theories, basic knowledge and basic skills of economics and management necessary for the major; Solve complex real-world management problems via comprehensive application of mathematics, natural sciences, economics, and management knowledge and expertise.

2. Business problem analysis ability:Can apply the basic principles of mathematics, natural science and management to identify and express the real business environment characteristics, and analyze the real business environment through literature research, to obtain effective conclusions.

3. Scientific research ability:Study complex management problems based on scientific principles and scientific methods, including designing survey plans, analyzing and interpreting data, anddrawing reasonable and effective conclusions through information synthesis.

4. Project management ability:Understand and master the project management principles and implementation plans, and effectively organize and implement them.

5. Design/Develop business solution capabilities:Ability to design solutions to real-world business environment problems, design business processes, business plans, entrepreneurial start-up plans that meet specific business development needs, with innovation awareness, concerns for social, health, safety, legal, cultural and environmental factors being reflected the design process.

Introduction:This course contains a host of basic concepts and principles that have been recognized and applied widely in the field of management in various organizations, including businesses. The major points of this course include fundamentals of management: the process view of management including planning, organizing, leading and controlling. The course also involves the history of management, the managerial decision-making constraints in environment, the global business issues, social accountability and ethical management, cultural issues in management and high-performance team management, managing change and innovation with a future orientation, all the topics contain the contemporary issues worthy of in-depth exploration. Through learning this course, students ought to understand the basic theories and practices of management, master the skills of analyzing and solving related problems and lay a solid foundation for future practical work.

Course Title:Microeconomics,Macroeconomics ClassHours:64,48Credit:4,3

Introduction:The economics course includes two classic parts of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. Microeconomics takes economic individuals as the research object and decision-making behaviors as the research goal. The specific contents include commodity supply and demand, consumer behavior, cost theory, producer behavior, market structure and market equilibrium. The main contents of Macroeconomics include: the research objects and specific contents of macroeconomics, historical background for Keynesian and the main ideas of the theory; three calculation methods of simple national income; IS-LM model, and use the model to conduct preliminary analysis on macroeconomic policies or practical problems; measurement, cause, effect, and governance of inflation; major deflationary theories in the West, economic cycle theory; economic growth theory, macroeconomics schools, etc.

    Introduction:Finance is a discipline that studies financial systems, money demand and money supply theory, monetary policy, and financial systems.Students should master the basic concepts and basic principles of money banking, be familiar with the overall framework of a country's financial system, and be able to use basic theories to analyze the application of domestic monetary policy under different conditions.

    Introduction:Marketing is a central function of all organizations that serve a client base. Identifying and meeting the needs of key customer groups is critical to achieving organizational objectives. This course provides an introduction to the marketing function of the organization and an overview of the theories and principles of marketing required for effective business practice. The focus is on how organizations identify the needs of their target markets, understand the buying behaviour of their target markets, and develop a marketing mix (comprising product, price, promotion and placement) to satisfy the needs and wants of these markets. While the course has a theoretical base, practical application of the concepts of marketing to “real-world” situations is an essential element, enriching practical knowledge of students.

    Introduction: Statistics is a set of tools used to organize and analyze data, and is also an important part of the education of any student of Business Administration and Economics, here isreferredto as two courses of Applied Statistics I, II. Statistics is permeated by probability. Employing statistics serves two purposes, (1)descriptionand (2)prediction. Statistics are used to describe the characteristics of groups..Descriptive statisticscan then be used to thedistributionof the data in each variable. Statistics is also frequently used for purposes of prediction. Prediction is a primary goal ofinferential statistics. This course contains probability and statistics issues and skills that student should possess. The major points of this course include: data and statistics; descriptive statistics; discrete and continuous probability distribution; sampling and sampling distribution; interval estimation; hypothesis test.Statistical softwares, course outline and approaches to statistics arealsointroduced.

    Through learningthis course, students ought to understand basic theories and methods, and master the skills of solving problems of statistics. This course will help students establish bases of analyzing and solving statistics problem, and possess the skills and useful knowledge structure for future practical work.

    Course Title:Business Data Analysis and Mining ClassHours:32 Credit:2

    Introduction:Both academic research and business applications require independent data analysis. Data analysis is a tool to turn data into information. Data mining is a tool to turn information into cognition. If we want to extract certain rules (ie, cognition) from the data, we often need to use data analysis and data mining. Data mining and data analysis are closely linked and have a cyclic recursive relationship. Data analysis results need further data mining to guide decision-making. The process of data mining for value evaluation also needs to adjust the prior constraints and perform data analysis again.

    Introduction:The information system has become key elements to create a competitive business, manage companies and provide consumers with valuable products and services. Meanwhile, the information system is an important tool to support business activities, make strategic decision, gain competitive advantage and execute business process reengineering.

    Management Information Systems(MIS)as one of the professional courses in management area is provided for the students of commercial science and Management Science. This course emphasizes on learning how management and information technology can be used to improve organizational performance, teamwork, and personal productivity. This course focuses on three aspects in the following. Firstly the alignment of information systems and business strategy is extrusive and interpreted by cases and theoretical models. So we can eliminate students' confusion about the objective of this course. Secondly some methodologies of information systems implementations are shown to help students figure out how those systems are set and work, especially when facing such giant systems as ERP. This part is practice oriented and students can learn more about the consultant work. Thirdly students are required to do a small project using one of those methodologies they learned from the class and present their results. Thus they can seriously think about the role that information systems play in any organization and get to know how to apply these powerful tools.

    Introduction:With the advent of the knowledge economy, innovation has become the protagonist of economic and social development. Therefore, innovation management has also become the focus of management theoretical research and industrial practice. This course provides a systematic framework, introduces the theory and knowledge system of innovation management, helps students to establish a holistic concept of innovation management, and combines case discussions to enable students to gain knowledge of innovative management and application from a practical perspective.

    Introduction:Internet marketing is a new type of marketing approach based on the Internet. It uses the interactivity of the digital information and online media to assist marketing objectives. Through the study, research and analysis of the theory and practice of e-marketing and mastering the current situation and development trend of e-marketing, students can understand and master the basic theories and core content of e-marketing from the perspectives of Internet technology, marketing and information management, which will improve the theoretical literacy and enhance the marketing ability of the students wishing to engage in e-commerce practice.     Introduction:The main contents of this course include the characteristics of management communication activities, the basic concepts and theories of management communication, the ethical issues in communication, the basic processes of management communication, and the various skills commonly used in management communication. Case study method is used to help comprehend the management communication problems in real enterprise practice. The course also actively explores how to correctly and scientifically apply the communication principle and various communication skills in the management communication activities to improve the effect of management communication.
