2020 Graduation Ceremony & Degree Awarding Ceremony of Xidian Universitywassuccessfully held in the etiquette square in the morning of July 2, 2020 with a live broadcast in the cloud, thus students unable to return to the University and those returned to the University could experience the significant moment in their life. According to relevant arrangement made by the University, Graduation Ceremony & Degree Awarding Ceremony for Students from School of Economics and Management washeld in Xinyuan Building in the south campus. Xie Junzhan, Vice President of Xidian University and Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Li Yaoping, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Wang Yifeng, Chai Jian, Sun Bingzhen, Huang Meijuan,Deputy Deans, several members of Academic Degree Assessment Sub-committee, and teachers’ representative attended the ceremony that was held by Wang Weidong, the Deputy Secretary of School Party Committee.
Participants of degree awarding ceremony include more than 200 undergraduate students and over 160 postgraduate students. The Vice President Xie Junzhan and Secretary Li Yaoping respectively delivered speeches on the opening ceremony, gave best wishes to graduates on behalf of faculties, showed a great expectation for their future development, and expected that they would not forget the school motto, would persist in life-long learning and actively seize opportunities in the era so as to lay a foundation for sustainable growth. Moreover, President Xie Junzhan and Secretary Li Yaoping welcomed graduates to come back to the University frequently when they met with success.
The degree awarding ceremony has three stages. School leaders and supervisors attending the ceremony successively awarded degrees to and took photos with Chinese postgraduate students, Chinese undergraduate students and international students. Vice President Xie Junzhan turned tassels and awarded degrees to international students one by one and took photos with them. The School sent exquisite graduation souvenirs of Xidian Universitycharacteristicsdesigned by students from Cultural and Creative Association of the School to international graduatesparticipating the ceremony.
Most of 38 international students intended to attend the degree awarding ceremony stayed abroad and failed to participate in the ceremony due to the epidemic. Only five undergraduate students and four postgraduate students took part in the ceremony. Although it is pity that they fail to attend the ceremony, epidemic prevention and control are our priority. Some international students expected that they could come back to the University to make up for it after the end of the outbreak. We sincerely wish that all students abroad could go through the difficult time and get together later.
Finally, international students awarded degrees took photos with their teachers to record the special and memorable moment.
