XDU-SEM Successfully Held the Development Forum on Management Science Journals
In order to further improve the level of economics and management science related journals, enhance exchanges and common development among journals, and promote the development of management science and engineering disciplines,“2020Development Forum on Journal of Management Science” was successfully held in Xi’an on November 2. Nearly 100faculty members and students gathered together to listen to cutting-edge academic topics related to management science and discuss how to construct and develop management science journals.
This event was organized by the Editorial and Publication Working Committee of Systems Engineering Society of China, the Editorial and Publication Working Committee of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics and Xidian University, and undertaken by School of Economics and Management, Xi dian University. On the morning of November 2, the opening ceremony of the event was held where Wang Shouyang, Honorary Dean of School of Economics and Management of Xidian University and Academician of the TWAS, Yang Xiao guang, President of Systems Engineering Society of China, Li Jian ping, Secretary General of Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics, Xiong Xiong, Associate Director of College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University, Xie Jun zhan, Vice President of Xi dian University and Dean of and School of Economics and Management, Xi dian University, Li Yao ping,Party Committee Secretary of School of Economics and Management, Xi dian University, and nearly 30 editors-in-chief of management science journals attended, and Xie Jun zhan delivered a speech. Xie Jun zhan extended warm welcome to all guests present at this forum and sincere gratitude to those supporting the construction and development of Xi dian University for a long time on behalf of Xi dian University. He gave a brief introduction to important achievements of Xi dian University in recent years. He stated that in response to higher work requirements proposed by nation allea ders and new requirements of the new era, Xi dian University would change philosophy, change systems and adjust mechanisms. This event is an important initiative of Xi dian University in response to the appeal of the Party Central Committee for sticking to the road of intensive development, implementing the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, and improving education quality in an all-round way. He expected that teachers and students of Xi dian University would seize the opportunity to conduct exchanges and communication with experts and scholars from various sides for enhanced mutual understanding,consensus building and pursuit of common development, and continue to make important contributions to the development of Xi dian University and the local development.
Wang Shou yang stated that Xi dian University, a university with significant revolutionary elements, has a long development history in the management field in his speech. Teachers and students of Xi dian University have applied optimization thinking since the late 1970s and continuously streng the ned their management thinking.The School of Economics and Management has given full play to the role of think tank, developed a large number of excellent graduates majoring in economics and management, and made contributions to national and locale conomic development since its founding.
Yang Xiao guang stated that this event was significantly meaningful, for it would serve as a platform for participants to conduct exchanges and mutual learning centering on the benign development of management science journals and get rid of the thought of“five dependents” in response to the national policy of“crack on five dependents”, and continuously improve the development quality of management science discipline.
Li Jian ping extended sincere gratitude to all guests and staff contributing to the successful holding of this forum as one of the sponsors, wished the forum a complete success, and expected that all teachers and students attending this forum would benefit from it.
Xiong Xiong introduced some topics for research and discussion on the development of management science journals, and wished that participants would conduct full discussion and exchanges, solve problems, and offer advice and suggestions for the development of management journals through this forum.
