September 21-22, sponsored by the National Sports General Administration Swimming Management Center, China Swimming Association, Sichuan Sports Bureau, Chengdu Sports Bureau, Sichuan Sports Vocational College, Chengdu Swimming Sports Project Management Center, the Youth Swimming U Series Competition officially kicked off at the China Modern Pentathlon Center Swimming Hall in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
The competition attracted more than 700 athletes from Shanghai, Tianjin, Yunnan and other provinces and cities. The event warmly welcomes the coming 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
After winning the gold medal in the National University Swimming Championships last month, the Xidian Swimming Team sent three undergraduate students, who had not yet experienced the competition, as athletes including Yongzhen, Zhang Xundi and Wu Yuhang to the competition.
Confronted with a series of unfavorable conditions in the pre-training, coach Hou Peng with the team members found ways out of the difficulties. After several intense competitions, the Xidian swimming team won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze (man's 100m breaststroke gold medal, men's 50m backstroke silver medal, men's 50m breaststroke bronze medal, women's 100m butterfly bronze medal), two seventh places. Excellent results!
The National Swimming U Series Competition is a national high-level competition in addition to the National Swimming Games and professional registered competitions. In this competition and pre-training, the three freshmen not only strive for the honor of the university, but also fully demonstrate the youthful, sunny, courageous and positive energy of Xidian students.
