The University of Miami Business School visited SEM

(Correspondent: Ji Yuyao) On the afternoon of April 7, 2023, John Chen, Director of Admissions and Gao Yinghui, Faculty Director of the School of Business of the University of Miami visited SEM. Xie Yongping and Chen Xi, vice deans of School of Economics and Management, Zhang Weili, head of internationalization affairs, Pang Jianing, head of Science and Innovation Finance Research Center, Yang Mengyao, foreign affairs officer, and the specialists of XDU-VT cooperative education programs attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Weili.

First of all, Chen Xi expressed a warm welcome to the visit of the University of Miami School of Business, and made an introduction and review of the development history and construction of the college. In particular, she pointed out that the XDU-VT Cooperation Program of SEM gives full play to the strengths of our academic disciplines and specialties, and belongs to the innovative international cross-talent cultivation program. SEM hopes to provide students with a wider range of international exchange opportunities on this basis, and to expand the international vision of our students. Afterwards, John Chen made a systematic introduction to the basic situation of the University of Miami Herbert School of Business and ELIGlobal Faculty Training Program. The University of Miami is ranked 55th in the 2023 U.S. News Best Colleges. As a high-quality private university in the U.S., the University of Miami Herbert School of Business relies on the superior location of Miami's financial center to develop high-level business talents with innovative ideas. Xie Yongping said that SEM attaches importance to the introduction of high-quality international teaching resources, to enhance the internationalization and competitiveness of students, and to create a high-level, broad field, multi-level international exchange situation. Both sides discussed the broadening of joint training channels for internationalized talents, and expressed their willingness to work together to find cooperation projects that meet the needs and explore the possibility of further cooperation and exchange. It is hoped that the two universities will strengthen cooperation and exchange in the future, and build more international platforms for exchange and cooperation in teaching and academic training of talents.
