The Institute of Silk Road Economic Belt Development was jointly established by Xidian and Shaanxi Academy of Social Sciences in December, 2013, as a think tank for Silk Road Economic Belt. The institute invited Prof. He Liancheng as the Chief Economist, and Zheng Xiaojing, member of the national committee of CPPCC and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, to attend the opening ceremony and unveil the institute, the university gave great attention and strong support. As the first specialized institution of Silk Road Economic Belt among Chinese universities，after five years’development, the institute has organized “Silk Road Economic Belt Development Forum at Xidian”twice, published three development reports and one research collection and attained a series of innovative research achievement, which has attracted attention from domestic and foreign scholars.
